From being one of the first women to enter Yale University in 1970 to successfully pursuing the often forgotten profession of being a milliner, Bisbee resident Kate Bishop is always pushing the boundaries of what she is doing at the time. Her beautiful creations have earned many accolades and given her a spot in years past at the acclaimed Smithsonian Craft Show. With the skills of a highly talented seamstress, she is able to create hats that use unusual combinations of dyeing and insightful manipulation of fabric that lead to finished projects that are both wearable and stand alone works of art.
