Lara Plecas is a self-taught artist who has been working as a painter since 2000. She works primarily in encaustic fusing techniques with collage and photography. She was a member of Eye Lounge, an artist collective in Phoenix, for over 3 years. She has taught encaustic workshops in the Phoenix area at the Shemer Arts Center, Arizona Artist Guild and has offered private lessons in her home studio the last five years. Recently, she has been exploring working with textiles and plant base dyes.
In early 2017, she will be launching a new site called Desert Crafted where she will be selling fine art and textiles that are inspired by the Southwest.
